A couple of months ago we stayed at Westgate Smoky Mountain Resort and had an amazing time. My husband was unable to attend that trip, and with our Anniversary quickly approaching, I knew another stay at a Westgate Resort would be perfect!
Florida has always been one of our absolute favorite destinations so it was any easy decision to start looking there. There are so many different Westgate Kissimmee hotels to choose from, the hardest part was deciding which amazing property(s) to explore!
Choosing The Properties
Since it was just my husband and I on this trip, we loved the idea of changing hotels midway through the trip. This would allow us to experience two different properties, as well as two different locations/things to do!
Westgate has a great collection of beach hotels and the newly renovated Westgate Cocoa Beach Hotel has been on my must visit list for awhile! With Orlando just a short drive away, we then focused on choosing a property there. We ultimately went with Westgate Lakes hotel near Disney because of its perfect location and long list of amenities!
Westgate Cocoa Beach Hotel
Of course the room was amazing! This was a two bedroom suite equipped with a full kitchen, living and dining room area, and two bathrooms! I have to say my favorite part was definitely the makeup vanity in the master bedroom! It was so nice to have a designated space to get ready and not have my stuff all over the bathroom sink!
Once we got settled into our room, we wanted to take advantage of the amazing weather and head to the beach. The moon shining down on the ocean was one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. As hard as we tried to get that moon in our selfie we kept coming up short…. literally – ha
While we didn’t use the pools personally, they looked amazing and the lazy river was so neat! Our kids would have been in heaven! If you love being at the beach but aren’t a huge fan of the sand, this is definitely the place for you!
Things To Do
They have chairs an umbrellas available on the beach which is SO nice! They also offer other unique amenities such as a Bluetooth speaker and cooler full of ice! Not having to drag all of that to the beach and back was such a huge benefit! I could have sat here all day, however my husband had other plans.
When we went to the main office to grab some pamphlets on airboat rides, we were greeted by the most knowledgeable and caring staff member. She talked us through each of the different options in the area and the pros and cons of each! Having an expert opinion saved us SO much time. Instead of trying to research each one, we immediately knew which one we wanted to go to. As soon as she said “hold an alligator” I was SOLD!
Airboat Rides At Midway was an AMAZING experience and I would 100% recommend it to anyone! It was very safe and exciting all at the same time! My kids were totally jealous! As you can see above they even have a pet pig in the store you can hang out with while you wait!
When we returned from the Airboat ride, we spent some time relaxing at the Adults only relaxation zone! We visited this area frequently during our stay and even played cards there before heading to the Pier for dinner!
Westgate Cocoa Beach Pier is located a short trolley ride from the Hotel. My husband and I actually walked there, but took the trolley back! There are so many things to do at the Pier from shopping to dining! We had a delicious dinner at Pelican’s and loved watching people surf and fish!
Westgate Lakes Orlando
After a couple days in Cocoa Beach, it was time to head to Westgate Lakes in Orlando! To no surprise the room was phenomenal and had the most incredible view of the lake. I was THRILLED that our balcony was screened in and we spent the majority of our down time out there! Westgate has given us so much peace of mind with their clean hotels policy.
Now that we were in Orlando, it was time to decide how to spend our time. There are so many things to do in Orlando and we wanted to make the most of our stay!
Before heading out to explore we grabbed some dinner from Draft’s Sports Bar & Grill. Draft’s is located on the property and it was our favorite meal of the entire trip! My mouth is literally watering as I write this. I would visit Westgate Lakes again and again just to eat here!
Things To Do
The list of things to do in Orlando is a mile long, so we had to pick just some of our favorites! Of course we had to visit both Universal City Walk & Disney Springs for some shopping and sweet treats. We got caught in some rain, but that wasn’t going to stop me from getting my Dole Whip!
The next day we visited SeaWorld Orlando and it was such a great experience. I had not visited since I was just a young child, so it was like the first time for me! The shows were fantastic and I could had sat and watched the turtles and manatees for hours. If you haven’t gathered, I LOVE seeing animals! I don’t typically ride rides, but Journey to Atlantis was definitely worth it!
Later that night we met up with Kelsey & Ryan from @newbuild_newlyweds for Dinner at Café Tu Tu Tango and Top Golf! It was so fun to meet up with another creator and we had a blast!
Are you ready yet?
Overall we could not have asked for a better trip and I was so sad to see it end! I don’t think I will ever get over how amazing Westgate Properties are and all of the amenities that they offer! There were so many things that we did not even get to do on site! Pools, Arcade, BOWLING, and more..looks like we will have to start planning our next visit!
